Advice on refurbing levers

Post by trinder »

My 79 Sport has a Grimeca disc brake and master cylinder fitted finished in black. the brake lever has the finish lifting from around the pivot and there is a bit of alloy corrosion showing. Should I have the levers stripped and powder coated or stripped and painted?

Also does any one have any suggestions as to suitable temporary replacements whilst the originals are being refurbed as I don't want to lay the bike up as I am enjoying riding it so much.

Buy a replacement from NLM. Keep the original in case you ever break a lever.
