How many miles/kilometers has your Corsaro done?
Re: How many miles/kilometers has your Corsaro done?
I will have to have a look at that hose on my bike too! Never thought that would be a problem.
What amazes me though is how you can get your bike so clean!!! It looks totally brand new on those pics!!

You're not the first person to bring the integrity of the radiator cap to my attention and maybe it's something I should have taken notice of earlier, however I still believe that it has more to do with the moronic design of the crank case spigot than any other single reason.unbelievable wrote:
I've done about 4000 miles on my Veloce now and have had a few problems. The first was a head gasket, but more worryingly, I've had the radiator hose problem too. The first I knew about it was coming out of a corner and nearly highsiding as the coolant had dumped all down the side of the bike and onto the rear tyre. The bike went in and out to Three Cross Motorcycles four times and each time I got it back the same thing happened. They eventually narrowed it down to the radiator cap not allowing the expanding coolant up the hose and into the expansion reservoir. Had a new rad cap and it's been fine ever since. It really is worrying to know that it could pop off again though. In one of my many conversations at the roadside with the RAC the guy said he'd never seen a hose fit onto the engine without some sort of olive or flange to stop it from coming off so easily. I'd like to think that Morini could come up with a fix for this as it could be very nasty if the hose were to come off whilst banked over at speed. PS. I still absolutely love my bike though!
I reckon I've fixed mine now, even if it was an extreme remedy. I've used Permatex cement to glue the hose to the spigot in conjunction with a heavy duty hose clamp. I've done over a thousand kays since with no probs. My only worry now is how I'm gonna dump the old coolant when the time is due.
I live and ride in a pretty hot climate (Queensland Australia) which I also think is a contributing factor to the problem, what sort of conditions are you riding your Corsaro in "unbelieveable"?

I'm really beginning to miss mine these days. In March, I had a small crash slipping on gravel left after the long winter. It didn't seem like much as I was going really slowly, in the process of turning down my street. However, things are not always what they seem...
In the end, not too much damage, but I have not been able to ride the bike since as I have been waiting for spares. I needed new pegs on the right, new handle bar, bikini fairing and also the rear end body part. Just spoke to the shop and they are still waiting for some parts, although they hope to finish the bike for next week.
I suppose two months is not too bad, but it is getting frustrating...

Well, I live in the UK so I'm pretty sure it's not hot weather that's the problemBeveldrive wrote:You're not the first person to bring the integrity of the radiator cap to my attention and maybe it's something I should have taken notice of earlier, however I still believe that it has more to do with the moronic design of the crank case spigot than any other single reason.

Re. how to drain your system. Can you not separate the hose at the radiator and pull it down to the ground so it becomes the lowest point?

That would probably do the trick.unbelievable wrote: Re. how to drain your system. Can you not separate the hose at the radiator and pull it down to the ground so it becomes the lowest point?

Hard work and an eye for detail Henrik, I'm probably a touch "obsessive compulsive" when it comes to my bikes, which probably isn't such a bad thing?Henrik wrote:I will have to have a look at that hose on my bike too! Never thought that would be a problem.

Here's a shot of my 32yr old Ducati that I've owned for 21yrs.

Wow!! Thank you for the picture of the SS, looks just fabulous!
I suppose being a bit obsessive compulsive is not a bad thing. I like to care of my "toys" too, but I don't even begin to come close to you. My brother who has a Tuono is a bit like you, and I tend to tease him by saying that I prefer to ride my bikes rather than clean them!
Put it this way, I have some collectors objects which I am obsessive about, and then I have my Corsaro which really is for riding and is used very regularly (if it wasn't in the shop right now, I would be riding it every day).

Re: How many miles/kilometers has your Corsaro done?
a fix would be to drill a hole in the offending spigot and fit two stainless steel rivets in different positions or tap the spigot and fit a threaded collar on to it.
The small protrusions would then stop the hose from sliding off under pressure, but obviously only of use if the bike is out of warranty.

Finally got my bike back from the shop! Had some small improvements done too, like the black fairing and black end pieces on the QD exhausts. I think it looks great now!

Re: How many miles/kilometers has your Corsaro done?
Love the pipes Henrik, they look awesome, how do they sound?
Re: How many miles/kilometers has your Corsaro done?
They sound great, and the de-cat QD full line helps as well. I have never taken the DB killers out of the pipes though, as I really find it more than loud enough as it is.
QD also does a really nice looking two in one solution.
