Sport badge and seat covers?

Post by tim61 »

I hope I am not dredging up some old and tired subjects, but can anybody tell me of a source for both the Sport top clamp badge and quality seat covers for either an old Sport round back seat or a 78 vintage Sport kick up seat?

Thanks to the generous nature of the users of this forum, I am down to the last few pieces I need to finish the resto of my 78 Sport. I have been able to obtain a Sport top triple clamp, but still need a Sport badge. I have the original seat with a really crappy cover, but I also have access to an early style seat that also needs a cover. Are these parts reproduced anywhere?

THANKS!!!!!

Hi Andre,

The link says 115 euros for the round back seat cover - is that for the whole seat, or the covering service?

Is 39 euros the coast for the cover alone?

Cheers,

OK ,so its a long way from the US - nearly as far as Germany etc but recently had my seat recovered, new foam, base shot blasted and powder coated for £60 (cash..) by Leightons in Birmingham. Did an excellent job in about 2 weeks - copied the pattern and the rear wording perfectly.

That is what I am wondering. It sounds like the cover is 115 euros, right? Actually, that is not a bad price for a cover, assuming it is of good quality. I bought a really nice, accurate reproduction seat cover from my Darmah from Germany a few years ago. It looked as good as stock, and in fact has fooled several "experts" who thought it was a mint original Darmah seat. If I remember right, it was about 150 euros, or so.

What about the chrome strips on the side? Does anybody have a lead on those? I could fab a set out of polished aluminum, or even steel and have them chromed, but it sure would be easier to find originals....

Thanks for all the help, guys. Parts and info for these bikes in my part of the world are a real rare commodity!

I bought a new sport seat (early style) from North Leicester Motorcycles (motomorini dot co dot uk) for £85. Apparently they commissioned a new batch of seats from the original manufacturer, and the quality seems excellent.
