Tyres

Post by RedVee »

Evening all, having always used Avon tyres in the past, now they have moved the factory from about 8 miles away from me to foreign parts it appears according to some other local bikers that they are proving difficult to get. So the question is, what are you all using on your trusty 2C's?
Thanks in advance

Not for a 2C but facing the same thing with a 350 I chose Michelin Classic Road. Current models and yes they work well all round, like most modern tyres. If they don't do the sizes you need it could well be worth looking at some of the lesser known (in UK at least) brands-I have used a few of them and found all to be good. Some examples are Mitas, Heidenau (part of Continental) and even Chinese names like Cheng Shin or Vee Rubber! None of them are like the old cheap stuff we used to deride as hard nylon etc-they really are good! I'd do the track day on them too.. :)

I have Metzeler ME22 on mine and I'm very happy with them after several thousand miles They handle well, wearing well and seem to suit the bike. That said, I put them on while it was being recommissioned, so I've not ridden it with anything else.

I chose them as a few people recommended them when I asked the same question here :)

Has anyone tried the Michelin Road Classic? 90/90 front & 100/90 rear?

Since a couple of years I wear Conti Classic Attack rear 110/90 and Conti Road Attak 90/90 and 100/90 Front. For me the best tyres I've ever tried on my Morinis (Avon, Pirelli, Bridgestone, Heidenau)
They are radial tyres.
