Grimica Brake Caliper

Post by Wodgedodge »

Having tried to improve the braking feel of the Grimica calliper fitted to my Mk3 Camel by using an alternative master cylinder, the brake is still horribly wooden and with very little lever movement, so i suspect that the calliper pistons are partially seized and not retracting!

Does anyone know if rebuild kits are still available for the calliper or is it better to ditch the Grimica and fit a more modern calliper and if so, are there any suggestions on suitable alternatives and are these a direct replacements or will I need an adapter plate?

Hi, from memory the original master cylinder has a 13mm diameter.

I found a bike with a partially seized calliper progressively more difficult to wheel out of my garage- a used replacement being a cost effective fix. I should add that this was not on a Morini.
