500 sport marzocchi 35mm fork stanchions

After some decent fork stanchions for my 500 sport before I go down the path of having mine re-chromed, alternatively full legs if they have dust boots, brake line clips & don't need new seals. Thanks

If no-one on the Forum has a pair of forks available, here are a couple of things to look at..

New fork stanchions..

I guess you might be able to do a deal with Classic and Vintage Suspension as you don't need the yokes. They have brake line clips on Page 1.

Thanks Jenny but those are a bit spendy compared with re-chroming, new seals, dust boots & clips

That vintage suspension website looks really helpful though, have to see if I can resist buying full nos forks.... going to look at another 500 next week & see what the forks are like on that

Worth looking for Ducati Pantah stanchions as well as they are the same.
Stein Dinse have these on offer at the moment at €157 a pair.
OK, import duty might need to be paid, but that is a good price.

That's interesting! So they are the same as on 350's as well? In particular the discbrake models?

I realise that your post is about 500 stanchions but just in case anyone thinks the Ducati Pantah ones are the same as the 350s I would issue a word of caution. Early 350s with Marzocchi's had a ball valve damper with a longer bush in the bottom of the stanchions. I don't know if the later Marzocchi's were used in drum brake models but my 1975 model Strada has 35mm Marzocchi's with the ball valve dampers and matching stanchions. The later type may be the same as Pantahs but they would need a deeper counterbore at the bottom to fit earlier ball valve versions. Of course many 350s were fitted with Paoli's as is my mate's '76 Strada. Be absolutely certain which version you have and check specs against the Pantah ones before buying.
