I've searched the forum but couldn't find any info on replacing the original glass fuses (getting more difficult to find) with blade type fuses. I don't want to replace the whole fuse box; rather, I would like to change just the three fuses on the box. There are various options:
1. Flex Fuse converters
https://www.cjponyparts.com/flexfuse-fu ... 5IQAvD_BwE
But these use the existing fuse mounts, with all the attendant problems of loose rivets holding the original fuses.
2. https://ipatools.com/product/8015-fuse- ... pdate-kit/
This can be installed in line with the existing wiring that goes to the fuse holders.
Has anyone used any of these? Thoughts?

Re: Glass fuse replacement
I made my own fuse wiring. All you need to do is plug each side of a new fuse holder to each side of the fuse box where each fuse is located. You need to piggy back one or two, but you can still use the original fuses if required. Completely reversible, too. Check the existing fuse rating and choose appropriate guage wire.
I mounted the fuse holders on the battery top holder using velcro.

That conversion is no bad thing either. Replacing a blade fuse is far easier than trying to get a conventional fuse back in between the contacts.

Thank you. I have ordered 15a blade fuses with two pigtail wires coming out of the fuse holder with receptacles for spade terminals.

Did you solder the wires to the original top and bottom fuse holders? The width of the fuse holders are too wide to use standard spade female terminals, so I'm not sure how to attach this to the fuse holders.

Re: Glass fuse replacement
I did not use in line fuses. I'll post some photos. I made up wires and crimped some spade terminals.
Re: Glass fuse replacement
It would be great if you could post some photos of how you wired it up.

Hi Joe,
Photos attached. Sorry for the delay, I forgot! You can see the two cables and three wires in each going top and bottom. Not the neatest of jobs I admit but it does the job and I carry the old continental fuses with me. Ignore the fourth fuse, it is for my non standard ignition.
