My Sport badge looks very scruffy now. Can anyone recommend a suitable chrome paint that will work on this plastic badge ?
thank you.
Dave.

Re: Sport badge
Tried several chrome paints but the ones that look best are very fragile and flake off. Have a look for Jenolite chrome paint it seems to be one of the tougher ones but unfortunately it will stand out against proper chrome.
You could try nail varnish I have seen nails that looked very chromey though no idea how long it would last.

Thank you both for your suggestions.
I have been in a few model shops but the chrome paint looks more like silver to me not really chrome.
This is proving to be more tricky than I thought.

Re: Sport badge
My badge was gold /black. I got the brightest gold I could find but it is noti a patch on an original. Good enough for me though.
I have seen better chrome paints but VERY expensive, e.g. EasyChrome or https://www.stardustcolors.co.uk/chrome ... 06015.html
No idea how Halfords chrome paint looks.

Re: Sport badge
A friend has just told me that you can get a paint pen called Liquid chrome mirror finish pen she has used it to make birthday and Xmas cards. Might cover up scratches

Re: Sport badge
Many years ago - couple of decades perhaps - I sprayed a tired looking sport badge red and then wrapped it with self adhesive aluminium foil - taking care on the four corners - resulting in an aluminium ingot.
This was polished with metal polish - the result was a bright chrome like finish with ‘sport’ clearly visible below the tape. A very sharp scalpel was used to trim around the text and raised edge. The finished piece was indistinguishable from a new / original badge.

Thanks everybody for your suggestions. I have decided to try Revell Chrome paint on my badge. I have seen it used on another forum for coating a Cibie light reflector and it looks superb. The aerosol is small and expensive so I hope it works. I will post updates on here shortly.
