Labyrinth wanted for 350 Kangaro

I think Mdina have a metal one. I sold a pair earlier this year...

If somebody needs a pair they can buy my complete bike as it has th labyrinth fitted...

Mdina list them but don't currently have any stock and they're not inexpensive at around £25 including VAT!

Something to make on a late autumn day methinks....

I think the labyrinths should have flexibility, so not sure metal is the correct material. 3D printing is probably the answer.

Hi Pete/All,

Maybe they are necessary on short hoses, but my Sport hasn't had any labyrinths in for over 40,000 miles! Back in the day I replaced the original breather hose with a black oil proof rubbery type tube, same ID as spigot on crankcase. I increased its length so that it follows the original route, then alongside the rear mudguard and finishes just below the rear number plate.
My oil gets dirty at the same rate that it always did, the oil consumption has stayed the same (virtually nil) and I don't get an oily film inside the left side panel. To me, it doesn't look out of place, but then I did grow up around British bikes with 'go faster' breathers like it.

If you plan to use the bike off road, then maybe one of the 'generic' oil breather filters (look like baby K&N type of thing) on the end of the short hose will stop excessive oil out/dirty air/water in issues?

Thank you for your reply, I have got the labyrinth sorted now thanks to Julian, but I do think that your idea would work and especially on the X3 where thr breather pipe runs to the back of the bike into a capped metal tube.

The tube will, in all probability, be, like mine very hard. I took mine out, binned the pipe and sold the labyrinths alone.

FYI I seem to recall reading many years ago that use of the labyrinth was to provide a small amount of intentional back pressure for the crankcase—along with obvious protection against water ingress. Feel free to contradict me.
