Well - there wasn't one in Bristol, but there is one in Bridgnorth!
2nd September, from 9:00 am onwards (apparently). The Morini Riders Club will have a presence, so if you are anywhere close and free (and the Midlands Ride Out is the following w/e...) come along. Not only geogeous Italian Motorcycles and Cars, but also an all-day Italian Market in the centre of this lovely historic Shropshire Market Town (it says here ).
Les and I (plus Diane) will definitely be there, and we are hoping that Mid-West M/C can bring a modern Corsaro or something along...
Might even be able to squeeze a few products in to a pannier, as we'll be there with the Granpasso. It'll be good to catch up, didn't really get a chance to speak at the Rally, so many other Morini folk there,
We called in at Mid-West for coffee today on a VMCC run. Definitely going to have a presence at Bridgnorth they say. Full of plans to restore the 50's 175 Morini single they have to do the Motogiro. Sounds as if the 1200s are getting good interest. They had four in the showroom.
See you there. Is it just a day trip or do you want to overnight at my place?
The 175 has the most beautifull patina, it has the most fantastic grey tank that needs preservation even if it is not the original colour scheme. I hope they just mean mechanical refreshment.
We're up for the weekend so will only have a limited space for Products in the panniers. If anyone who is coming knows what they want, please let me know in advance so that I can pack what you want!!!
See you there; weather looks reasonable, and there is a lot of Italian related activity going on, so promises to be fun!!! Mid-West M/C are bringing a few bikes along as well, and there are other makes of both cars and m/cs around to look at, as well as Italian food (and hopefully coffee...)
I think my 2C/375 isn't smart enough to represent the marque do I'm going on a Gilera. It was meant to be the 57 175 Sport but after a Levis Cup Road Trial recce yesterday the clutch is slipping, so all being well I'll be taking the Gilera GFR 125 - possibly one of the rarer machines present
Just spotted this.
Our local club have got a weekend rideout from the East Mids over to Aberystwyth Saturday and returning Sunday via Ironbridge so may try to visit Bridgenorth mid afternoon. There will be a mixture of bikes but could be a couple modern Italians amongst them including my Morini Scrambler.
Thanks for the info
What a spiffing event. Thanks for tolerating an Arcore machine next to the Bologna and Trivolzio built ones. It was a great advert for Moto Morini old and new. Lots of people interested in the ZZ and Scrambler demo bikes from Midwest Moto.
A good location for the event. Plenty of choice of places to eat and drink.
Oh yes - great fun - helped no doubt by the lovely sun, a group of great people to chat to and a good selection of Morini... At one stage there were more modern ones than there were old ones; but what old ones! Two Drum brake Strada, an X2 Kangaru and a Valentini styled Sport; those who lived near by but couldn't make it missed a treat.
