3 1/2 Length
3 1/2 Length
Building a shed for the bike, but said bike at Moto di Marino for generator rebuild so can’t check the length and want to make sure the shed is big enough. Anyone know the length from front of front tyre to tip of the rear light?
Re: 3 1/2 Length
The "Blue Book" says overall length 2085mm, but I'd allow a bit extra. A 500 is apparently 2135mm. No point me measuring my 2C as it's definitely shorter.

...plus the backward pull to get it on the centre stand. You will need space either side to fettle. Room for tools, spares. A fridge for the beer. A wingback chair for contemplating the manual. Then the N+1 effect means you will need space for expansion.

8' X 6' is a good size...
Re: 3 1/2 Length
Thanks - plenty to work on there - especially like the wingback idea!
Re: 3 1/2 Length
The siting of the shed is important-must be out of earshot, or have a noisy heater or radio so you cannot hear the words Dunelm Mill, I wonder if you could just pop me into town, we need a new carpet or, wait for it...the hall, stairs and landing need doing. These words are only spoken when you are on the floor under the bike with a torch in your mouth, whilst trying to use both hands to work on a centre stand return spring or similar.

A small camping-stove and kettle doesn't take up much space, and a folding chair can be quite comfy...3potjohn wrote:The siting of the shed is important-must be out of earshot,...A small price to pay for not being able to place an order for tea or coffee.

I've been playing with configuring a 14'x16' bike shed...

A man with a plan!
I'd move the grinder right to one end of the bench so that any sparks / particles / flung tools / bloodstains are well away from the bike

Re: 3 1/2 Length
Best I get the shed built quickly as other words have now been said: ‘never mind about a shed, what about the new kitchen?’ Enough to strike terror!

You missed the fridge and the comfy chair.Tanshanomi wrote:I've been playing with configuring a 14'x16' bike shed...
Oh, and the other five bikes.

14' x 16' is bigger than most new houses!
