2015 - MRC 40th Anniversary Rally

The club is looking for suggestions as to what we extra could offer at this years 40th Anniversary Rally long weekend in Lincolnshire on June 10th-14th.
We already offer a track day, ride out, the chance to stay on site in comfort or camp for free so no problems with a drink or 2, access to technical experts etc

Any requests, any suggestions, any offers?

Arrangements are now advance for the clubs track day, ride out and rally scheduled for 11th, 12th,13th June.
Track day is nearly fully subscribed with just a few places remaining for those of you who have left your entries late.
Camping for members at The Three Horseshoes Goulceby is free, however space is a premium so booking in advance is advisable. You are too late if you wanted to book one of the Bell Tents or the Retro Caravan, they are booked for all four nights. As advertised here and within ATG we are riding out to Lincoln Cathedral on the Friday morning, 12th June with a tour of the Cathedral and tea & cakes at the bishop palace afterwards. Again you need to book in advance as the club will need exact numbers to plan the ride out and allocate places on the pre-booked floor and roof tours. All arrangements will be confirmed with your booking confirmation. If you can't bring your Morini then you can meet us at the West entrance of the Cathedral tat 12.45pm to join us on the tour. Because parking is restricted to bikes only at the bishops palace ,you will have to use one of the public car parks nearby.
Saturday 13th June will be based around the Three Horseshoes and marquee which sits at the rear of the pub. All members and friends are welcome to come, chat and socialise. If you are not a member, don't worry we can soon sign you up! This our birthday year so come and join us to celebrate all things Morini.

Ride out route now completed after a dry run today. For those members who enjoy club runs this one should not be missed.
Tea and Cakes have been booked at the Old Bishops Palace, along with our guided tour of Lincoln Cathedral.

Just a reminder to those yet to book camping to drop me a line, contact details as previously advertised.
We have exclusive use of the campsite, so all bookings are being handled by the club.
You will have to bring a tent, as the Bell Tents have already been booked.

It's shaping up to be a great weekend, and it looks like there will be a number of fun things to do, as well as the traditional Silly Games and other Morini-related trivia...

Only a month away now, but still plenty of time to organise a borrowed tent if you don't have one, and the chance to ride the Club bike at some point over the event (subject to suitable insurance!!!)

What a great occasion that was. Perfect weather for Cadwell's track day, a fascinating tour of Lincoln Cathedral's roof, indulgent tea and cakes at the Bishop's Palace and a very enjoyable (if wet) rally and AGM on Saturday. Many thanks to Paul Emmerson for all the hard work organising the track day and arranging the cultural events (and for his generous hospitality), and to everyone else who helped make it all such a success.

I would like to second that Mark, superb day at Cadwell, in addition to a fantastic time on track, I met some great people including unbelievably, a previous owner of my Velocette who just happened to have a photo of my bike in his car. The Lincoln cathedral roof tour was a world away from Cadwell but no less enjoyable, and the cream tea was about as far removed from the usual motorcyclists greasy spoon as it is possible to get, all absolutely wonderful. Thank you to everyone involved in organizing the weekend, Paul in particular.

Just back from this fantastic week-end. The track day was, as usual, excellent. My Belgian friends with their race Morini also had great time; they enjoyed the warm welcome, the contacts with several Morini riders, the circuit and the "meeting" with Pete and his race bike. Pilot Coco understood he was running a bit too hard for the Morini group, and then had a great time with the quick group.

Cecile and I then fully enjoyed the rest of the time - the visit of the Lincoln cathedral with an interesting and funny guide -first time for me to go in the roof woodwork of such a big building, above the ceiling-, the rideout, the AGM and the silly games. And for sure the nights in those fabulous bell tents at the Three Horseshoes. Paul, you did a wonderfull work with the whole organisation.

We came back with nice souvenirs: Cecile's prize for her Dart (fully deserved, I'm convinced), mine as "Special Award" for my bike or at least its luggage rack (much less deserved, but it has joined the "Best Workhouse" award it won in 2004), an English Beer (to a Belgian guy, this must be provocation), an ATG from the first track day I came to, plenty of pictures and the long lasting memories of a very special event.
