Insurance newbie can't get covered!

Post by bobajob »

So where do you folks go for insurance? I've currently got a mutli bike policy with Bennetts and they reckon they can't insure my '77 starda as it's not listed. Have tried my previous insurer (Direct Choice) and they don't have it listed either (I suspect they all use the same database).

My multi bike policy is up for renewall in a few weeks so looking for a company that will cover a VFR750, Suzuki SP370 and the Starda on a multi bike policy.

Thanks

I use Footman James who offer a discount for members of this illustrious club, you'll need your membership number to get it.

The policy I have with them just covers my classic bikes which I believe is their specialty, not sure how old your VFR is but they may not want to mix classic & modern bikes.

Cheers,

I'll put in a mention for Peter James. I know many people have moved to them from Footman J. I'm not sure how they'll be on 'modern' bikes, but they've been very competitive on a multi-Morini basis, and handled an insurance claim effectively and with no quibbles.

I've got about 15 bikes on cover with Peter James on their classic policy. Two of them are 1992 Gilera CXs. I think their 'classic' cuttoff is over 15 years old.

Thanks for the advice guys. Footman James did the job, the VFR is a 1988 so they covered all three. Gave them my membership number and was pleased with the price and the level of cover.

Good to hear you are covered & sorted.
I've been with Carole Nash for years and so has the other half. I have a six wheel car/multi bike policy going from Modern back to to 1949 and including my 1977 Strada and he has a similar range of bikes insured with them
Morinis & Motorcycles - Is there anything else?
