1977 Strada battery

Post by bobajob »

Hi,

Took delivery of a 77 strada yesterday that will require a bit of work to get back on the road. What size / type of battery are folks using? It's a kickstart only model.

thanks

I've done some digging and it looks as though a YB9L-B will do the job. Should have looked first!

When it comes down to it, any battery that will fit in the space available. The ignition does not rely on the battery, so the capacity required is really only significant in how long it will run the lights with the engine off.

If you've got access to old UPS batteries, then the 7Ah and 5Ah sizes would work fine, but you'll have to pack them out to make them secure.

Thanks EVguru, good advice. I'll see what I can find. The guys at work are always buying replacement UPS batteries.
