Re: Let there be light????

Greetings Moriniacs, I've been working on my lovely '74 3 & 1/2 Sport for a few weeks now trying to put it back on the road after a four-year hiatus. Snap. Mine's also been off the road for 4 years, but its a 1984 500, and I have been spending the last few weeks sorting it out. see the blog My ...

I can confirm my steering lock is also made in Germany by Neiman, but it has no numbers on it.
The fuel cap key is made by FAAB in Bologna and googling that brought up this website http://www.morlands.demon.co.uk/index.htm
They may be able to supply a blank.

I would like to know how you seal the fuel tap aperture as well. I heard a horror story once when someone used a resin type sealer that filled in the fuel tap hole and had to be chiselled out when dry taking out a large lump of sealer from the bottom of the tank with it, which then rattled around in...

Just checked mine and the right hand side plate was behind the frame, the left hand one in front. :? I have just moved the right hand one to be in front of the frame as the silencer was very, very close to the wheel nut/spindle. Your bracket is the same as mine, ie standard. Do you have standard foo...

Hi Nick,

Yes they are all different keys. I have 4. ignition, petrol cap, steering lock and seat.
My steering lock has never worked and the seat lock stays open, I use the lever to keep it closed.

Sorry, that doesn't help much does it

Bringing my 500 back to life

Going to the recent AGM in the car (again) shamed me into doing something to get my 500 road legal again. It has been in a corner of the garage for just over 4 years. The site hosting package comes with a free blog so I thought I would use it to try and document what I need to do to the bike. This l...

Sorry, can't help you with the size. I ordered ones for my 500 from NLM. You may be surprised to find you need 4 seals, or at least my 500 did. 2 per leg stacked above each other. I don't know if 2 per side is really necessary nowadays. Are seals better made now so that one per side will work ? Also...

Ferrari knew what they were doing when they called the colour Fly Yellow

Saw Tom's yellow Corsaro at the AGM and it looks stunning. A strange pearlescent/metallic yellow with carbon bits. Yum. 8)

Hi Dougi,
Ask the seller to sign section 8 on the V5 form then send the V5 to you with the bike.
You can complete sections 6 and 10 with your name/address. Keep section 10 and send the first page to DVLA.

Instructions are on the V5.

Hi Dave, There's a Fuel consumption topic further down this board that should answer your questions. Consensus seems to be low to mid 30s originally, and high 30s to low 40s with the latest ECU upgrade and mappings. Corsaro and Veloce have the same engines. If you want a Veloce with a race ECU and P...
