Morinis at Cadwell

Regulations for a practice day to be known as “A TUTTO GAS PRACTICE DAY”.


The Morini Riders Club will hold a practice day on the long circuit at Cadwell Park on Thursday 24th July 2008 for solo machines only.  The practice day is open to all Morini Riders Club members and invited guests.

ENTRIES

There are discounts for riders who enter early or enter a Morini; Morini riders who are prompt will get a double discount.  There will be a special "Morini only" group on the circuit.
We will try to allow everyone to ride in their chosen groups but reserve the right to change the composition of groups on the day depending upon numbers.

There will be a maximum of 114 riders for the day, with entries accepted on a first come-first served basis.  All entries must be pre-booked and paid for.  Entries may be allowed on the day only if space permits.  An entry fee once paid will not be refunded for any reasons other than those recoverable by the organisers.

PROGRAMME OF EVENTS

The practice day will be split into sessions of approximately 20 minutes under the control of Cadwell Park staff. The pre-arranged groups will be run in rotation and may be varied at the discretion of the organisers. The sessions are expected to begin at 10 am after sign on, scrutineering and the mandatory briefing by Cadwell Park staff. There will be a one hour break for lunch at 13.00 and the final session will finish at 17.00.

N.B ALL RIDERS MUST ATTEND SCUTINEERING AND THE BRIEFING BY CADWELL PARK STAFF BETWEEN 08.00 AND 10.00. 

INSURANCE

The Morini Riders Club will insure riders against third party claims and personal accident risks.

NUMBERS AND RIDER IDENTIFICATION

Riders will be given a numbered ID sticker or tag on signing on. Riders should at all times carry personal identification showing name, address and date of birth (eg. driving licence). Riders must be aged 18 years and over to ride on the circuit.

YOU MUST BRING YOUR CURRENT DVLC (Both parts for the new card type)OR EEC EQUIVALENT DRIVING LICENCE.   
NO LICENCE, NO TRACK TIME, NO EXCEPTIONS.

SCRUTINEERING

All machines will be scrutineered for safety before they are allowed on the circuit. Machines should be mechanically sound and free from oil leaks, and the following points should be noted:
1        All light glasses must be taped.
2        Mirrors to be taped over or removed.
3        Centre stands must be wired in position.
4        Control levers must be ball end and complete.
5        Machines must be clean to assist scrutiny.
6        There is a noise limit of 105db at Cadwell Park
Facilities for 1 - 3 will be available at the circuit

CLOTHING

Riders clothing must comply with the following:
Helmets must be sound and comply with BSI 6658-A, ACU Gold or equivalent.
Goggles or eye protection must be worn whilst practising.  Helmets will be checked for condition and fit. Leather boots and gloves must be worn.  Clothing must be sound and may be either:

  • One-piece racing or touring leathers   OR

  • Separate leather jackets and leather trousers, providing they are fully zipped together

We recommend that additional back protection is worn under your leathers. 
The Cadwell race school will NOT be able to hire out leathers for the day. 

BRIEFING AND FLAGS

Prior to any track use there will be a compulsory briefing for all participating riders, by Cadwell Park staff. Flags will be covered there, but for your information, those in use will be:

RED:             Danger             Session stopped, slow down, proceed to the pits.

YELLOW:       Slow down         Speed too high for safety, or danger ahead.

CHEQUERED:  Session ends    Complete remainder of the lap and return to the pits.

Please watch out for the flags and obey them at all times.

RIDER CONDUCT

Please remember that this is a practice day and NOT a race meeting.  Any rider who displays unnecessarily forceful riding or who indulges in any competition with fellow riders will be removed from the session and warned.  Failure to observe this warning will result in exclusion from the day’s proceedings.

PRACTICE

The first session for each group in will commence with 3 laps behind a travelling marshal.  At the end of the third lap the marshal will pull off the track and riders can proceed at their own pace.

NOTICE

The Morini Riders Club reserves the right to refuse entry without reason and to cancel or postpone the track day or alter the program of events.

Please note that FREE camping is available at the Horncastle Golf & Country Club, Shearmans Wath, West Ashby, Horncastle, Lincolnshire LN9 5PP which is only 10 minutes from Cadwell Park.
