125 2T

Post by Krissyb »

Hi guys,

I’ve recently purchased a 1961 125 2T and I’m the process of restoration.

Here are some pictures of when I purchased it. I’ll keep the thread going if people are interested.

At present it’s all in bits, I really want to do a nut and bolt resto including the engine also. The bikes complete except for the tacho but I’m hoping to source oh and the key which I need to source also.

I'd say that despite the lack of written replies 130+ viewings means, yes, we're interested!

Only just seen this post and yes, I'd be interested in seeing the resto diary. I quite fancy this model, cos 2 strokes are faster innit. I'd love to know what they're like inside.

I have obtained new pistons (one spare) and some used parts out of Italy

There are 2 types of 125 2T (two stroke) the early long case with a separate dynamo up front and the short case with a flywheel generator. I used many years ago to own a short case

If anybody has any parts or knows of any source please let me know and if anybody has a handbook I'd love a copy !!!! . I am compiling a list for ATG

Aye Arthur,

Nice to view the progress.

You'll have it running afore I get 'The Minx' ('79 125H) running and a damn sight more cheaply I suspect!

Good health, BillR

Hello everyone, been a while as I’ve been working - family life and restoring a few old Hondas MX bikes.

Anyways Dave a good friend of mine and a very talented Individual has been busy stripping and blasting / inspecting everything and I thought I’d update with some pics for you all.

Apologies about the Selection of pics not being time specific but I’m in the process of organising them so from now on there will be regular updates etc.

Currently after some sort of reference manual / owners manual and parts diagrams to make things easier.

My 1948 Supersport now runs and thanks to a great chap in Italy I have a NOS carb float chamber top and a key (its very unique) is on its way from Italy as I write

Bike will be at Bristol Classic bike show in a couple of weeks on the Morini Club Stand.

I have an instruction manual for a 125 Tourist but nothing else at all. This has only recently come into my possession and is a little to large to e mail. My son Thomas (club chairman and webmaestro -as nobody else seems to want to take on) has a copy and will put on website soonest but he is in Finland on business for most of this month.

However you can find the manual on the technical pages of this excellent website and download directly

www.rpw.it

Spares will be v hard to find in UK BUT I am building up a list of Italians who may be able to help. If you know any name do tell me for common good. If you e mail me on arthurwfarrow@hotmail.com I will send what I have so far
