Hello all,
So I need to replace one (base gasket) as its leaking oil. I ordered a paper and a metal one. For a 75 Sport, which should I use ?
Regards,

Re: Cylinder head base gaskets
Originally the base gasket on the early motors was a fibre one (I wouldn’t say paper, thicker than that, perhaps 0.5mm)
My 75 drum sport now has aluminium ones.
Personally, I would fit the aluminium ones provided they are the same size as the ones that come out.
I built a sectioned engine for the Morini Riders Club to display at shows. This has one of each type- ‘early’ front cylinder and ‘late’ rear cylinder. An educational talking point for the rivet counter nerds!

I would use the aluminium ones. You can reuse them a lot of times

All done. Took 3-4 hrs and now completely oil tight.
