tacho drive repair

has anyone had any success in taking mechanical type tacho drive apart, the drive pin which locates in the special type nut on the cam, has worn, can this be fixed ive tried several bodges but they dont last to long, any thoughts welcome, currently back on road and in daily commuter use, well i am mad i know that and looking at the recent prices there now fetching maybe i should keep it in the living room, thanks to all who have helped me out to get this far. muller.
