I ve always thought they were a good bike since my teens , 25 years later I proved myself right. I also ride a 1200 corsaro which is a real blast

New stanchions are available from Paoli-Tarozzi via Disco Volante (http://www.discovolantemoto.co.uk)mgb81 wrote:I ve just picked up a 1975 strada and it could do with new wheel rims and its forks rechroming....
The cost difference isn't much and I haven't been totally happy with the finish I've got recently on re-chromed stanchions from Philpot Hard Crome (http://www.pittedforks.co.uk).

Re: strada wheel rebuild
Perhaps I'm too late to offer advice, but I had wheels built by both Brickwood (as suggested) and Hagon.
Hagon, whilst slightly more expensive, did a VASTLY better job. I also found that posting a wheel to Hagon was easier than driving to Brickwood. It certainly cost me more than £25 of my time getting there and back.
What was the difference in quality? I asked both to polish the hubs, Brickwood was poor, Hagons was superb. I asked both to fit butted spokes, Brickwood forgot and fitted standard spokes. I had a slightly kinked Borrani Rim, Brickwood said it was irrepareable. Hagon charge £5 to fix it!
