As there were two different diameters or rear hubs, it's quite possible there were 2 different numbers on the Borrani rims as the spoke angles would have been different.
On the question of price, the hubs are rarer than the rims. Rim go for about £100 each, hubs up to £250! each. When I was trying to buy complete Borrani rimmed wheels, I was offered wheels that need rebuilding for between 500 & 900 euros a pair. I ended up buying parts alone from multiple sources, and the total cost for a pair of rebuilt/polished wheels was well in excess of £500. I guess it depends how much someone wants them!
Borrani Rim numbers
Re: Borrani Rim numbers
Only drum braked Stradas used the 160mm wire wheel rear hub and they didn't have alloy rims. When the disc braked machines came out they appear to have standardised on 180mm rear hubs for both models.stuart wrote:As there were two different diameters or rear hubs, it's quite possible there were 2 different numbers on the Borrani rims as the spoke angles would have been different.
