Know a Morini-friendly mechanic in the Milton Keynes area?

Post by mikeh »

Dear Tre e mezzo,

I am in the process of getting a 1973 Strada in Sport clothes registered in the UK for the first time and back on the road. The engine was totally rebuilt 10 years ago however the bike has spent most of the time since in storage. I need a mechanic to look things over and get the bike up and running again so I can arrange SVA, MoT and registration. Does anyone know a mechanic with 3 1/2 experience (and preferably their own van) anywhere near Milton Keynes?

Thanks,

Mike

Hi Mike, you don't need an SVA test for your bike as it's more than ten years old . . congrats on your good taste in aquiring a Morini. Sorry I don't know any mechanics in your neck o' the woods but someone on here is bound to . .

Hi Boris,

Thanks for the info on the SVA, I'm wading through all the paperwork and it's great to know that is one less step. I have a Statement of Search from the VMCC verifying the age so hopefully that will help.

And yes I have had a very helpful response on the mechanic front so should have the bike on the road just in time for winter!!!
