Preparing my 1975 Strada for riding aftersitting for 6 years
Just purchased my Strada 3 1/2 which only has 3500 miles on it. It has been sitting in a controlled enviroment for 6 years. I need to prepare it for running and the road. Any suggestions from those who have such a machine and maybe been through the experience? I am looking forward to learning about and riding this bike.

My '76 sat for 10 years before I got it. Some things to consider...
What's the history of the bike? With only 3500 miles it may still have the factory oil in it... probably not but we don't know that.
What's the overall condition?
At a bare min. you need to Change the Timing Belt, adjust valves (0.1mm)
flush the gas tank with clean (fresh gas) disassemble/clean/check the carbs
probably rep;ace the fuel lines, new battery, change oil, clean oil screen,
change oil again after 30min running, new tires and tubes.....
Someone will no doubt suggest something I've forgotten...
Mine started second kick after I freshened it up (first time i heard it run)
Call Hermy and Kathy for everything you need. What they don't have
NLM or Tritsche will.
