I have VHBZ25HS carbs on my Strada the ones with the vacuum link pipe. I have stripped the carbs to a pile of parts and I have found that the slide needle is worn I will replace the needles but I want to replace the atomisers as well. The carbs are fitted with 260D atomisers but I can't find them for sale anywhere.
The VHBZ25BS that are identical apart from no vacuum link pipe use 260K atomisers these are available will they work in place of the 260D's or have Dellorto replaced the D with another part number.

Re: Atomiser for VHB25 carburetors
If I remember correctly the K atomisers have holes right at the bottom and the D don't. I think some folk may have turned D in to K by filling in the holes with solder.

Thanks I will have a read of that thread. I don't mind soldering up holes in the atomiser but drilling new ones sounds like it would be a complete pain in the tailpipe.

Re: Atomiser for VHB25 carburetors
I am not much of an engineer as anyone who knows me will attest but drilling holes is not that bad. I bought a batch of 0.8mm bits ( they are fairly easy to break). My Dremel clone has a clone chuck which can accept these bits . No point in spending money!
I made a drilling guide from a cube of wood with a central hole to accept an atomiser. The bit will go through the brass easily. You will need a reamer to deburr in this case 260= 2.60 mm
I only have a 2.64 reamer myself though which turned up cheaply on Ebay, looks like some 2.60 there today.
There was a chart showing many of the atomisers in ATG a while ago

Re: Atomiser for VHB25 carburetors
Interesting read. I'm wondering what carbs would be on a 75 model 3 1/2 Sport?
I'm still waiting for it to be shipped to me so can't go out to the shed to check.
Cheers.

I think they would be VHB25 without a vacuum balance pipe. Sometime in the late 70s Dellorto changed to VHB25BS then around 1980 they changed to VHBZ25HS. Can't be certain about the dates Morini often fitted whatever was available.

Re: Atomiser for VHB25 carburetors
Eurocarb have told me that the 260D atomiser is discontinued. So I think I will have to buy a pair of 260 K atomisers and have a go at modifying them. I am very nervous about cocking it up I think I will buy some brass tubing and practice drilling the holes.
