Leicestershire gathering
Looking at the current advice - as mentioned in the latest ATG - there does not seem to be any reason not to have the usual September rideout. I am hoping to have an event at home on Sunday September 13th and will be tied up with work on Saturdays, but is anyone interested in meeting at Leicester Race Course on Sunday 6th? Or here at Burton, we have some nice lanes hereabouts.

Please note the change of date on this post - I went into senile old git mode and got my weekends mixed up

I'd like to do more with the local section but sadly I'm still working weekends and Mondays. That also stops me attending the new Warwickshire meets which are a similar distance for me. Retire in about 18 months I hope.

I recommend retiring. Lots of interesting bike meets during the day!Steve Brown wrote:I'd like to do more with the local section but sadly I'm still working weekends and Mondays. Trouble with retirement is you don't get days off any more!

Quite right Ming. I did actually retire in 2017 and bought a new bike. Then I did a trip to India that should have been a once in a lifetime thing but it was so good I did another in 2019.Vitesse wrote:I recommend retiring. These were all good things to do and I don't regret any of them. Trouble was I blew a sizeable chunk of my pension doing them and a return to work was the only reliable way of topping it back up again. I plan to retire again by May 2022 at the latest but it might even happen before that.

I don´t know what that expresion means, the pension will be less than minimum (for me and my wife together), but time counts quite a bit more than that blody coinsSteve Brown wrote:You could well be on the money there Norbert! Fingers crossednorbert wrote:Hi Steve,

Well as there is no interest accruing, spending and enjoying yourself is not so bad.And to think when I had a mortgage but no savings the interest rate went up to around 15%.
