Carb clamps/jubilee clips

Post by Daddy Dom »

Hi,
I'm not a fan of plumbing clamps/jubilee clips and want to find some original Dell Orto manifold clamps for my Sport ... but ... can anyone tell me what was fitted originally? I think there always was a jubilee clip on the cylinder side of the outlet manifold but were the Dell Orto clamps like this originally fitted on both sides of the carb?

Thanks,

Hi Dom,

Yes they were originally fitted as I have them on my 1974 model. I get my Dellorto parts from http://www.dellorto.co.uk/merchandise/p ... ctionID=68
They have always been very helpful and quick.

Cheers

I've got those clamps on the carb/inlet manifold connection on my '75 Strada, which has the metal manifold. On the rubber airbox/carb connection it's got jubilee clips, as on all the connections on my '76 Sport which has the rubber inlet manifolds. So it looks like: metal connection = clamps and rubber connection = jubilee clips.

This is the original style of clamp for the rubber connections;

I always liked those quick-release hose clips, so much easier to use.

Paul, have you found a source? The only ones I've see are too wide, 10mm, I think they should be 7mm.
