Hi Steve.
Yes, I always wondered about the exhaust, too. I didn't realise it was for dampening down the noise. I thought it might be some sort of snorkel for going through deep fords or something.

Sadly it's not my bike, and I'm not sure if my creaky knees would be up to it anyway.
