Am I the only person to have bent an NLM exhaust nut spanner? The nut started to undo then got a bit stiff then a bit more welly and now the thing has bent....

When it got stiff was the time to stop, back off and apply more lubricant and heat. I've had to work a fastener back and forth a for more than hour or more, gaining just a few degrees each time.The nut started to undo then got a bit stiff then a bit more welly and now the thing has bent....
