KANGURO RUBBER BAND...
Hello people So she is running and the electrics are sorted... so I am putting her back together, Now when it arrived the headlight cowl was held on by what appeared to be a giant rubber band ! It went around the forks and hooked onto either side... Is that it ? I am all for simple, but did they come out of the factory like that ? Anyway the rubber had gone like an old bungy. So I will find something to replace it. There is a small hole on the left hand side underneath where the rubber band lays so I don't know what that is about. Thanks for any help. Simon.

Re: KANGURO RUBBER BAND...
As I recall, the rubber bands (like large O rings) fit around a moulded 'flange' on the two sides of the headlamp nacelle, round the forks and fixed inside the nacelle. I replaced mine with a couple of lengths of narrow bungee cord.

Here is what it looks like as standard from my X1 before I modded it. Yup it really is just a bungee cord around the stanchion.
