Morini 500 with sooty spark plugs BP7EVX came with K&N Type air filter and two into one exhaust, would a hotter plug be the way to go, not checked the jets yet?

I would think it´s more a question of carburation than changing the plugs

Welcome to the forum.
You should find plenty of advice here.
Worth checking previous posts as many problems are common to living with 40 year old motorcycles.
Whilst this advice is worthwhile your bike will be unique to some extent, for example jet sizes vary greatly, mine has a 118 main jet when the standard is a 125. With a 2 into 1 exhaust and K & N’s jetting is likely to be non standard.
I prefer standard but understand that it is not always possible particularly if your standard air box has been replaced.
Regarding plugs I have just replaced 8’s for 7’s but then again I am running standard exhausts and air box.

Regards

Paul

Do the sooty plugs need a sweep?

I'll get me coat.
