Hello!

My name is Andy Higgs, I live on Saltspring Island in British Columbia and I have just picked up a 1981 500. It was stored in a dry garage for quite a few years, has 35,000km on it seems to be pretty complete. It not running but came with a small bikini fairing and windshield (not fitted), and a spare tank. It has K and N filters, however in the box of bits and pieces that the owner gave me was all the original air cleaner plumbing.

I believe it is a Strada with Sport bars and decals, but is there a VIN decoder on line that I can use to find out what the bike was when it left the factory?

I am sure that I am going to have a bunch of questions over the next few weeks and months so I just wanted to say hi and ask if there are any other Morini owners out here in western Canada.

The only difference between the touring and sporting versions of the 500 are the riding position.
