fork tube replacement
fork tube replacement
Hi all, new Morini owner here in the states and I need to replace the fork tubes on my 500 sei. That is proving difficult as Morinis are rare as rocking horse poo here. Can anyone suggest a source or provide info on an alternative?
I know they are 35mm which is common and Honda CBs and Suzuki GSs used the same size, but....
thanks

Re: fork tube replacement
Follow up questions: Will the forks from a 250 work? What other Morini forks are interchangeable? thanks.
Re: fork tube replacement
The 250 forks are a smaller diameter.
Disco Volante sell new forks I think.

Re: fork tube replacement
The 250 (single and twin) use Paoli forks and they're 1 1/4" diameter (31.75mm).
350 and 500 stanchions are the same (early 350 are 10mm longer) and Discovolante are probably the best source. They're not much more than re-chroming and grinding.

Ducati Pantah fork tubes are identical to the Morini 500.

Thanks for the info. I'll check out discovolante ASAP.
The tip on the Pantah forks is handy, but they ain't too common round here neither!

Re: fork tube replacement
I just got an updated price from DiscoVolante.
It came to £148.50 plus postage (£10) and VAT.

Re: fork tube replacement
Hey all, just a quick follow up. I wound up having new forks made by Forking by Frank. Not at all expensive and outstanding results! Now on to the dodgy electrics and the shagged starter....
