Good idea, I'll give it a go.

It'll be interesting to see what they and the piston bores and seals are like when they come out

Thanks again for the tips - I'll give them a go.

I've just been looking through some invoices which came with the bike and one of the entries is "investigate front brake pulsing" but it doesn't look from subsequent invoices that it was sorted, unfortunately which is why the discs are knackered i suppose

Thank you.

Is it still possible to buy seals for these calipers?

I have pistons.

I fiddled about with my calipers yesterday. The inner pistons do move and you can press them back with a big screwdriver on the pads. They do not move quite as freely as the outside set. I tried shims recently obtained to try and equalise up the sit on the discs, which seems to have worked and had no untoward effect. I have opted to secure them with a dab of suoerglue as otherwise when I next remove a caliper ( could be ages)they may not fall off.

Nothing to do with Stuck pistons:
Working on my actual 500 project both discs wäre touching the pads on the right side, even with the the pistons totaly in. I had to cut down the left hand spacer 2 mm to place the wheel corectly. The distance between the legs stays the same (the axle simply pulls the wheel 2 mm to the left)

Changing pads and brakingfluid of Roci these days I've found one outer piston that did not regress totaly. So I changed the caliper for a reserve one that I overhauled years ago. But one pad did not move freely until I changed the original 3,2mm splints for 2,9 mm ones.
