500 Frame with papers wanted

Post by ianlucas006 »

This is bit of a long shot but a friend in France has imported a Sei V from Spain and the French authorities won't register it as it has no original papers. If there is a frame with V5 that is not going to get rebuilt it may solve the problem. Thanks Ian

The machine registrar would be able to confirm but I’m fairly sure our MRC dating certificates have been used to successfully register a bike in France.

Certainly they have for a couple of Dutch registrations

Any EU-paperwork will do I guess? I don't have any but will keep an eye open

France doesn’t do anything without the right paperwork, but after 18 years I’m still here. A bill of sale from the seller is normally accepted (hint).

I have an original Dutch registration number and complete paperwork for a 1979 model 500cc.

Insurance has been payed for it all these years.

This can be 'exported' and then you have EU registration/ import paperwork, but there is no actual frame involved.

I am willing to sell these papers to you since I don't have a project for it at the moment.

I was keeping it active 'just in case' something would show up, but I can't keep it forever and downsizing is the way to go at the moment (uhm never say never)

Evening all,

I am Ian’s French friend.
French administration is very very annoying on this. I have tried everything with this bike but without a proper registration paper from the previous owner, which I do not have unfortunately, they refuse to register the bike in my name. All your suggestions have been tried but to no avail.

Tom, thank you for your offer, I have sent you a Pm, let me know if you have received it, I never know if that’s the case.

Cheers,
Simon

Hello Simon, is the bike over 40 years old? If so you should be able to obtain a Vehicule de Collection certificate and register it that way. I registered a K2 and a 250C2 that way.
