Glad yours is being sorted George, can I ask if that price is per individual coil?
Yes that is correct.
Plus VAT.

My Stator is back and has had the ignition coil repaired/rewound also to the other coils and the cable replaced.

Hi
thanks for finding a route to repair the stators let's us know how it goes.
I have a 500 stator that's only measuring 185 ohms
Please could you measure the resistance of your generator winding as it is now for reference and do you know the gauge and type of wire used. I think the club could invest in some emergency loan type spares as in your situation it would be a shame to miss out on a trip for want of a spare . 20 years ago of course one could buy a new one and have it sent out as happened to Pete Mumford whose Kanguru expired in France. Now there are no new ones only dubious old ones...
Thanks
Mark

I'll start off with this, having been told I don't know what I'm talking about in the past.

Paul, I'll see your photo and raise

I'ts not difficult, may even work with an Indian 'Vespa' coil, though thats more turns of finer wire (I think). Could be worth a try, though.

I live in the falorne hope that anyone who's thinking of rewinding their ignition coil might have found that link themselves.
I also live in the hope that people would occasionally use the search function on this forum and search engines in general.

Chaps,
I know what the wire diameter and class should be I wanted to confirm from chips1953 that Rex's Speed shop had used the gauge suitable for the somewhat voltage limited Morini transducer. I am am well aware of the most useful Dutch site and indeed my circuit diagram of the 18A regulator is on that site. Anyway I shall not ask any more questions without doing a proper search.
thanks
Mark

I don't think George looks in here all that often so I'll tell you what he told me in a PM. His new ignition coil reads 278 ohms and is fitted and all works nicely.
