Wanted Breather Junction box

Post by steveyhod »

Hi, I have a very broken oil recovery box on my New York, Part number 750013

I have some of the broken bits but there is too much missing for it to be serviceable.

Despite being a Ducati part, it's not available anywhere and I can't find out to which Ducatis it may have been fitted. I was excited to see a German site listed it but when I paid they came back and said it was OOS with no date for new supplies.

My guess is it was fitted to other Cagiva-era machines.

Has anyone got one they could part with or source of supply perhaps.

Thanks
Steve

It was fitted to the later road models too. A lot of owners got rid of them and reverted to the original breather system venting to atmosphere. They do work fine though, if all else is in good order and the bike isn't just used for short rides etc. They are reasonably common and should really be quite cheap. Postage will be the main cost if you have to buy from this half of the world. The breaker in Hannover, Germany always asks ridiculous prices even for scrap!
If you want to go old school it is easy enough so long as you route the main crankcase breather pipe to suit your particular model and most importantly fit an original type labyrinth into the pipe, or as I've done a one way valve. The valve covers incorporate a small labyrinth inside, where the small breather pipe exits, so they can be led to atmosphere/the ground/airbox to your taste.
All donations to the rest home for old Camels, Leicestershire.

Steve, my apologies, can't find one. I had one that went to friend in France. I was pretty sure I had another but can't locate it. They are fairly small so if it does come to light I will let you know. Thanks Ian

I have modified my Strada by adding the breather box. It just needs a short tube from the engine breather and I have deleted the two restrictors. I run the rocker cover breathers to the box and the outlets are two into one and are aimed at the chain.
