Kickstart Extender For 350 Sport

Post by Galligaskins »

Does anyone have a kickstart extender they'd be prepared to part with before I start trying to make my own?
Were the NLM ones aluminium or steel?

Thanks

I'm not sure if the one I had, (now sold), was from NLM, but it was certainly aluminium.

Have you seen the Club Spares Auction in the most recent ATG? Kickstart extender block is lot number 4.

Nothing to do with me but there's one on ebay:

Been on for a while so you might get some success with an offer.

Thanks for the replies.
I went for the one off ebay as I'm impatient and wanted to try out my new rearsets and there's no guarantee I'd win the Morini Club auction.
The ebay seller does two versions - long to suit fixed footpegs and short to suit folding footpegs. I went for the short. Needed a little bit of filing to get my kickstart lever to fit in properly but nothing major. I still needed to take a bit off the brake pedal toe peg but again, easily done.

The seller has several newly made Morini items up for sale, plus a 500 Sport.

They appear to have superb engineering skills. Is it anyone we know?.. It would be very handy if they were here on the Forum.

I have to admit the seller is a relation of mine and i have asked him to make the parts in the first place and susgested he might be able so sell some as some of the items he has produced for me is because i could not obtain them in this country , he is not a social media fan and only makes them in his spare time, i have had some other parts made from him as a one off - bleed nipples in S/S - he is making me at present some brake /clutch lever screws in S/S :D

Thanks for letting us know, Rick.

You are very fortunate to have such a talented and accommodating relative. If he is only interested in making bits and bobs as required, I wouldn't dream of demanding anything being mass produced. It did occur to me, though, that he might be willing to do a few small batches of things, possibly to sell via the Morini Riders Club products department? It could be a mutually beneficial arrangement? Just an idea.

I think the reason that it came to mind was that I am currently seeking some improved clutch spring nuts for my 3½. (See attached photo). The ones in the photo are made, or possibly were once made (?) by Gini Mauro in Italy. I sent Gini an email yesterday but haven't heard back yet. The first draft on Google Translate came out as "I would like some special walnuts" so these things are fraught with difficulties.

Those nuts are pretty straightforward to make. I have my own lathe and could make my own, but I think they are the kind of thing which quite a few people would like to have. As I say, it's just an idea.

All the best.
Jenny.

P.S. Did anything come of the leather worker whose details I posted who may be able to make you a tool bag?
