250 2c battery
Hi, just got myself a 250 2c, its not been run for 10 years and needs some TLC, it turns over ok and the oil looks like new... can any of you experts tell me what battery i need... and is it + earth or - earth when fitted to the bike... a few parts are needed but i want to get it running if i can... any help welcome.

I'll go and have a look later to confirm the polarity, but as mine has a 12v conversion (as well as a 350 engine) the battery isn't standard.

. . The one on mine is a GS, the number is 6N6 - 38, presumably 6 volt, 6 amp/hour . . it seems to be lasting an unusually long time - it's been on since 2007 and wasn't new then, it still holds a charge . . the lights aren't wonderful but ok for what I do with it . . as with all Morinis it won't charge a completely flat battery. As EVguru says the ignition is nothing to do with the charging/lighting circuit . . .

Negative earth - shouldn't have needed to check really. With a line fuse in the main positive cable. As has been said, it should run quite happily without a battery. If it won't start a quick trawl of the forum will reveal the usual ignition suspects

Thanks for the replies guys, i knew it would start without the battery... just wanted to know whitch battery to get when im ready to sort the electrics out...
