Camel Mk3

Post by ianlucas006 »

Camel Mk 3 UK registered bike.
I bought this as a non runner albeit it had an MOT! I got the bike running after a lot of fiddling with the carbs and ignition. I replaced most of the ignition as it was not std Morini and the timing was way out and seemed impossible to adjust. It now has a standard ignition.
I also found a rare 500 airbox and fitted that and rebuilt the carbs to standard spec with new jets and needles. It now rides OK but is still hard to start from cold so possibly the rotor needs re-magnetising. Resistance reading on the coil is good.
Cosmetically it needs some work. Frame needs painting for a start off. It has been touched up in situ and overspray everywhere. Forks seem OK and rear shocks look newish.
I have lots more pictures and a video of it running but would have to send by WhatsApp as too big for the forum
Bike located in North Devon. 15 miles from M5 J 27
Looking for something close to £2850 as that is what it has cost but open to sensible offers.

For anyone wondering, this model does make a good trail bike/green laner. I have one and that is what I use it for. That is a decent offer price for a rare model too!
All donations to the rest home for old Camels, Leicestershire.
