Post from UK to the EU is a disaster these days. I sent a box of bicycle parts to the Czech Republic and it took five weeks to arrive and the buyer had to pay taxes on it even though I had already filled out a customs form and paid upfront.

It was easier, cheaper and quicker to send my cousin who is currently working in Chile a Xmas box.

On the other hand my recent experiences ordering from EU countries has worked out fine. No delays or nasty tax surprises either. There are a good few firms who state clearly that they pay any duties and the price they advertise will be the price you pay. Some examples are Stein Dinse, Louis, 24MX.
Interesting that the delays and extra costs seem to be in the EU countries rather than here, even if they are intermittent too. I've not had any problems posting out yet either. I'm a happy bunny!

That is a drag. Anything new here that needed covering?

Awful business in my opinion.

That is a drag. Is there no explanation from the Bundespost or German customs of what rule is being broken here? And as Mickey asked, was there a customs declaration made?
Norbert, I am not going to the rally in Germany but I will be traveling through the country in May, if it helps?

I'm surprised that the PO got it wrong. I posted a calendar to CZ and was told firmly I needed one. I keep a few now. Very straightforward. Better than having to fill in 5 forms to send bits to Norway, as I used to have to do.

Ok, we´ll see wether it arrives till mids of february, that´s when I´m moving down to Spain for a few month. But normaly the DHL and GLS hand out the packages to the neighbours.

I´m sorry for that trouble Stempy and hope one day to see you at Cadwell Park or any other morini meeting to lift a pint or two

Hi Stempy
another way would be, if you could send it to a friend of mine in Spain, if that would not cause even more troubles  Have a look at your post box

I ordered and received the spanner promptly. Tried it yesterday and it's a nice bit of kit. Nice snug fit on the exhaust nut
