I note that a Camel is one of the lots at the Anglia Car Auctions on March 1st. Bit too far from me to go along.

It's a nice one too

I'm hoping to go to this auction so will particularly watch what happens with this one. Out of my league though, at least until I sell the car, the Zundapp, the Guzzi, the '64 Suzuki and possibly my body/soul. There may not be a market for the last one, sadly. Anybody want to stuff my pockets with cash and have me bid for them?

I didn't recognise the buyer of the Camel but I think he got a good deal. The pictures made it look slightly better than reality but still a very nice bike I would be happy to own. Anyone on here want to share their celebrations with us all?

I went to the auction too, to look at the Camel, but bought the greeves hawkstone scrambler instead! A play thing and project for French holidays. Rather taken with the Yamaha 500TT but lacking garage space which is currently limited to British, french and italian machines !! Remember...keep buying toys to support the economy.

I think it was quite reasonable. Camels are a lot rarer than Kanguros and the twin shock models even more so. It was very original looking and didn't appear to be bodged or tarted up for sale. I would even suspect the mileage was pretty genuine as well as it being a UK bike rather than a recent import. Would I have bought it if I had enough cash? Yes! and amazingly for me I would probably have kept it too...I still regret selling the twin shock Camel I had in the mid '80s This one seemed to start easily enough and sounded right as well. They don't make 'em anymore so they won't get any more common.

£2848 for any drum brake Morini in apparently unmolested condition, I'd call that a real bargin, but then I am very biased towards Camels and would much rather have one than a Drum Sport. If only I could find one I could afford, and I've been keeping an eye out for a mk1 or 2 for 30 odd years.

Hi, looks all original, yet as it has a glassfibre tank it's probably not a UK bike, but is that be a problem as it appears to be a nice bike ?
