Morini are also showing 2 more 650 bikes, cruiser style (New York for the 21st century) and Bagger.
Plus a sports bike and naked version with 750 V twin (90 degrees) engines 96bhp.
Also the expected X Cape in 1200 size.

I rather assumed that Morini would buy in a proven engine?

A small Morini 350/400 may make sense, like Triumph etc, but so far nothing like this has been shown on any factory roadmap.

The only ones I know would be a larger bored Suzuki or an Aprillia. I reckon the engine is new as it will need to need Euro 5+ and in the future Euro 6.

I see the new 1200 X-Cape has more bhp than the previous Gran Passo (and a proper monoshock at the back, so no more broken swinging arms).

It will be interesting to see the prices of the new bikes. In my opinion, the current Chinese Morinis are overpriced by a grand, just look at the CF Moto versions and they are a grand cheaper. ALso, look at the market and the discounts being offered.

It will indeed be interesting to see prices. The new 650 Calibro is coming on the market "soon" in a number of guises depending which accessories you select and it looks very "American" (H.D.)
We'll have to wait a bit longer for the new Milano with its slimmer oval silencers, proper number plate holder and generally reworked frame, etc. Also the Big XCape and the two 750 models.
However the 650 XCape, SCR and STR are very much available with a host of different accessories which can make them look like anything from a Ewan McGregor adventure bike, to a Royal Enfield Himalaya. Good stuff.

One point of correction - the new 90 degree V is designed in Italy, but not necessarily by Moto Morini engineers (as I read all the stuff coming out). However, the power produced from a 750 looks to be more than enough needed for the majority of riders! And I already have my Corsaro! It's good to see the Lambertini designed V lives in the new X-Cape 1200 and Milano - will the yet to be released 950 be a sleeved down version of this engine or a bored out 750?

Also interesting to see that as well as the bikes on Morini's own 2023 stand at EICMA several other exhibitor's stands had Morinis on them, which they were using to exhibit their own products and services. They were all 650s naturally
