My Strada has the grey alloy wheels, and i'd like to get them refinished as its not the nicest shade in the world and there are some chips to the coating and parts where it has flaked off near the hub - I've asked a couple of blaster/powder coaters about this and without seeing them, they've both said that if the wheels are plastic coated, they cannot be blast stripped.
Is the finish a plastic coat? if so it means a labourious job refinishing them and getting them sprayed instead, which i would rather avoid...

I don't know what the original finish is, but it can definitely be removed by blasting.

I had mine refinished a few years ago now, no problem.

The gold finish on my 250 wheels came off with paint stripper. You have to be patient with the modern stuff. Don't let it dry out and let it soak in for a day or two before scrapping that layer off.
