Any pointers where I can get a steering lock for my 76 31/2 Strada please ? Mdina says out of stock, I know there not the best thing but would be ok while calling at local places where i’m near the bike
Thanks barney

The same lock is used on Moto Guzzis, so try Gutsibits.

I used the Guzzi lock in my '77 3 1/2 Strada.

You could have a locksmith "pick" the lock and make keys. As Norbert wrote, it's a Neiman lock, so keys for a BMW Airhead seat lock will be the same. Here's a list of other blanks: https://www.thisoldtractor.com/moto_guz ... _lock.html

If you don't have keys and can't have some cut, then the lock will be destroyed removing it. Here's how I do it. First, remove the cover, which is accomplished by using a thin bladed tool to pry under the cover at the rivet. Then use a punch and hammer to drive the lock inward - this breaks off the head of a tiny screw in the lock bore that secures the lock. You should now be able to pull the lock out. It's helpful if you can line up the groove in the steering stem with the lock before doing this.

Great Thanks for the detailed response, if that’s the lock that fit yours then mine should be the same being a 76 31/2 Strada so maybe I order first then I can see what Im doing

This is the post with the link referred to above - the link is to an old BMW site and has a lot about how to remove these locks.

This video explains it well. I drilled a hole where he suggests:

The lock is the same as the VESPA ET3 PRIMAVERA SPRINT RALLY MK1 PE PX P200, for example: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/154548382718

Steering lock now all sorted so Thanks for everyone’s help, couldn’t pick the lock tried with different lock picking tools for over an hour then resorted to the drill using one of the links posted here for drilling position.
Purchased the lock via the link on here to the vespa item, as stated it was identical as the old one

Thanks again to everybody’s help
