Charging or ignition failure.

A couple of times on a ride today the ignition light came on under (reasonably hard) acceleration. No drop of in performance, and I didn't notice it at any other times. The battery is always managed on a trickle charger and has never indicated a problem, starter still strong. Any common issues with the alternator or coils? (Fitted with an NLM Ignition set up)

Normaly there is no ignition light, if you have not changed that.
Acelerating stromg in rare cases the oil presure lamp can pop up, if you have one. Oil Level ok?

As Norbert says, there isn't really an ignition light as such. Depending which year/model you have and whether the wiring has been modified in some way, it's hard to guess what's happening. On most 350's the red light should come on with the ignition key turned on, and stay on permanently until you switch the motor off. So if a standard bike has the light coming on intermittently it will be a loose connection. If on the other hand you have an oil light then it's important you get to the bottom of the cause. Common oil light problems are caused by the pressure switch failing, or in rare cases the primary drive pinion nut on the end of the crank coming loose. That causes the pump drive to slip, and disaster if left unfixed!

Thank you. I believe it's standard, and yes, the red warning lamp. Oil was OK before the last ride, but I'll double check, but it could be lose connection behind the clocks so I'll check that before anything else. The wiring wasn't all connected when I bought it, so I may have missed or loosened something.
