NLM transducer replacement kit

Does anyone know if NLM’s transducer replacement kit is compatible with the black pickup? I’d like to use a black pick up I have with a known good transducer replacement kit and drive an electronic tacho from the kit. I assume I’ll need to add diodes to the cables from the black pick up, but before I start experimenting I thought I’d see if anyone knows. The instructions from NLM in the members area don’t mention compatibility with the original pickups.

I asked the same question of the late and much missed Alex Mayhew who was behind the NLM kit-and yes the answer is as you've guessed, add the diodes and all will be fine.
