Hi All, I hope all goes well. I am writing to ask if you can advise on a rattle I get at certain revs (steady mid. revs) doing 50mph roughly on flat... I can't tell what it is but suspect rockers maybe? Or rods to cam? I'm really not sure...bike running well and valve clearances are correct I believe, engine burs no oil and has low fuel consumption..I .don't think it's pinking as noise not happening under load. Timing correct I believe but if advanced would it cause rattle? ( I tried retarding a little as easy to do but I don't think it lessened the noise- just made engine bogg down up hills....
So...what does worn rocker bearings sound like? Should I worry if there is some play?- I have seen a very careful fix by Paul Compton on YouTube but way beyond my garage experience and facilities..
All ideas welcome!
