post office rant

Post by greenie60 »

so finally got a new v5c issued to me by the dvla as i've not received the 'historic vehicle' one which i applied for back in march. because it's been over 6 weeks i have to pay £25 for something i've not lost ! the dvla said they sent it out on 4th april.
there's more..............
also the post office has lost my parcel of mdina bits i bought back in march too ! their system says they had it at 03.13 at peterborough sorting office weeks ago but i've not received it so where is it ? i had to travel to peterborough sorting office myself to see where it is as there online system is pants, only to be told 'we dont know where it is' phone this number for compensation, i just want my parts that i've already paid for.

I sent a sat nav to Germany for repair. Filled in the customs form, paid for track and trace and settled down.

After a week i checked and the PO sent me to Deutsche Post webshite. It said the parcel had cleared customs. I called the company and they said they would be contacted by the customs people. Another two weeks and the parcel still not arrived so I contacted the PO who told me that it had nothing to do with them and to contact Deutsche Post. I told them in no uncertain terms that I had paid them to deliver my parcel, that I expected them to trace it through the system, but they refused. I pointed out it was a breach of contract. I waited another week and nothing had changed on the Deutsche Post site, i was just about to claim compensation when the parcel was returned to me all fixed!!

The PO is a waste of space and Deutsche Post is no better. I'll use one of the private carriers next time, like DHL.

I purchase a motobatt battery from Tayna batteries last month for the Passo. The Driver 'DPD' did the usual company text informing me it had been delivered successfully. Nope!
I informed the original supplier 'Tayna' & they said they will investigate, turns out that DPD had my package at a local depot for a week & have lost it?
Tayna sent a replacement that arrived the following day via Yodel.
No explanation or apologies from DPD.

I wait in vain for the original to turn up, but I ain't holding my breath.

I used to send my shipments with T&T only untill a number were lost, and no action from our postal services, case closed.

then I insured the packages for an extra 2€, lo and behold they all arrive and when not they are always returned or delivered. no more losses
