I have been thinking of converting one of the carbs to remote lever, only one because it doesn't need both to start both chokes on and it's revving at 5000 rpm not ideal.

I have found a spare AMAL choke lever and I have a spare throttle cable that might fit. I have found on the Eurocarb website a conversion kit part number 53003 it looks right but doesn't mention VHB 25 as a fitment can anyone confirm I have the right kit

Id like to do this too but I remember in an old post somebody said a conversion dint work very well

Never done this 'mod' and personally haven't seen the need to, but others have felt the need and have done this.
My understanding was that Guzzi V50 (which had VHB carbs and a handlebar mounted choke) parts were used, so someone like Gutzibits might be able to help you.

I've had this for many years and never had a problem with it. Handy on cold mornings to keep the tickover a little higher.

What choke lever do you have. I quite fancied a proper Dellorto one but the only one I could find for sale was a bonkers price €149.

Reason I fancy changing I was out for a short ride and searching for the carb lever I took my eye off the road for a split second and nearly went up the back of a car

It was a generic lever as used on old British bikes. About £10 at an autojumble or Ebay.

My Guzzi Lemans has the delorto remote choke which is a neat barrel-like thing with the same flip-up lever found on the Morini's VHBs, so another vote for a call to Gutsibits...

It's still an all or nothing design though whereas I think he wants a partial choke option.

An adjustable choke would be nice no more ticking over at 3000 rpm but the main reason is I struggle to find the choke lever when moving. Already nearly ended up on the back seat of a car once.

I think the later design of tank sits a little bit lower or is deeper or wider than the earlier tank you have to lean over and wiggle your hand between tank airbox and carb to find the choke. It's definitely not easy to use.

Especially if you're like me and have hands like a badly shaved Gorilla

Ah yes you're right, but with only 1 choke connected up to the remote, you'd have bit of a halfway house. I didn't think that the delorto starter circuit could be finely adjusted - I thought each would have to be on or off.

The 500 used a splitter to operate both carbs.

Blessed as I am with both types of choke I find I start either bike from cold but quickly close them and set off.On my Sport I only flip one choke lever. On the cable choke again its only for cold start. Either way it’s only for no more than 20 seconds at the most. Gentle riding until warm though. Maybe if we got down to -17 again it would be different but I am done with slithering down Okus Road on a Trident so would stay indoors.
There is a very steep hill right by me so if riding up I go around the block first.

Just heard from Eurocarb that part number 53003 will fit my carb. Order gone through and I am going to pull the carbs apart clean and polish them to within a millimetre of there lives. I always take my bikes off the road in November so no riding will be missed.
