Thanks all, for that advice about charging. All hopefully sorted now on my new bike. New tyres/tubes/chain and belt: a bit of polishing required and an oil change/filter clean then ride for the summer before I get round to a valve check and carb balance. A previous owner put a lot of work into making this from a K2 and it's a lovely job. A real pleasure to ride.
